Have you ever had someone try to trap you with a question? They ask a question in which you will be condemned with any answer. This is what happened to Jesus in Matthew 22:15-22. Why not read this passage several times before Sunday? That had him cornered! It was a gotcha question. You know they felt pretty good about themselves. They were feeling pretty smug. They were probably giving each other high fives.
Jesus had a better idea. He turned the question around and they found themselves in a trap.
What does this story have to say about our situation today? Bring some friends with you and we'll all try to learn from the wit and wisdom of our Lord.
